What is sterile compounding?
- Sterile compounding differs from Non-Sterile compounding in a few ways. Firstly, you need a completely different physical lab with positive pressure and clean air supplying the rooms. Secondly, final product must be void of any bacteria or microorganisms. Thirdly, sterile compounding musts comply with a much stricter set of regulations and specific training requirements
What are some examples of sterile compounds?
- At Lemarchand Dispensary, we regularly compound atropine eye drops (and a number of other eye drops), hormone injections (e.g. testosterone, progesterone, and estrogen), Trimix injection (for erectile dysfunction) and many other sterile products
- We also can pre-fill sterile injections for patients to ensure sterile stability
